*News update: Denton wins by four lengths at Lingfield on Saturday, Medicean Man wins at Haydock on Friday. Full details on Tuesday*
It has been another very pleasing week at the yard and unquestionably the star performer was Remember Ramon, who gained his third win for us in the 12f handicap at Newmarket on Friday evening. The six-year-old (pictured) came to us having had a string of trainers and suffering from well-documented back problems. Jeremy and the team have slowly nursed him back to his former powers and he has proved a model of consistency for us, with this win being particularly satisfying. Running in the colours of Maggie Findlay, the gelding was racing on turf for the first time since joining us and set off into the lead in typically enthusiastic fashion under George Baker, who settled him beautifully. With the field stacking up in his wake over 2f out, one could be forgiven for thinking he was about to be swamped, but he gamely fought off every challenger that got to his quarters, seeing off the final challenge of Snoqualmie Boy by 3/4

It has been a busy week for Horses First Racing, with seven of our eight runners reaching the frame. The week was kicked off by Chief Exec, who ran a tremendous race in defeat to finish a slightly-unlucky second in the 7f handicap at Kempton on Wednesday. With Clare Lindop again in the saddle (Clare is pictured after winning on the horse earlier this month), the seven-year-old came from the rear of the field and despite still having eight rivals in front of him with a furlong to race, he quickened up impressively to pass all bar one of his rivals, finishing just
Going into last week we knew it was likely to be our busiest seven days of the season so far and so it proved, with us having 13 runners, including winners at Ascot (see picture) and Wolverhampton. On Monday evening, Law Of Attraction became our first two-year-old runner of the season when lining up in the 6f maiden at Windsor. He made a promising start to his career, shaping as if the experience would bring him on significantly. The following day, we turned our attentions to the all-weather with two runners at Wolverhampton and one at Southwell. At Wolves, Takizada got proceedings underway when running a satisfactory race in the extended 8f maiden, but it was Chief Exec that stole the show in the 7f handicap. The seven-year-old had given Jeremy his first success in Britain back in February 2008 and he duly obliged again on Tuesday. Having been settled off the strong pace by Clare Lindop, he swung into the straight still at the rear of the field before pulling wide to launch his bid and unleashing a telling turn of foot to win going away by two lengths. He is clearly a capable performer on his day and hopefully things will again pan out well for him and Clare when they line up in the 7f handicap at Kempton on Wednesday evening. Our day was wrapped up with Aussie-import Denton making his first start for us in the 8f handicap at Southwell. Based on what he has shown us at home he can be expected to progress in the months ahead.
*News Update: Street Power becomes our latest winner at Ascot, where we also had a 2nd place with One Way Or Another. Chief Exec bolted in on Wednesday to win at Wolverhampton under Clare Lindop. See Jeremy's new blog for more details. Full report on in Tuesday's news*
We have a busy week ahead, as we prepare to send runners out up and down the country. Today Takizada and Chief Exec run at Wolverhampton, while Denton will head to Southwell. Takizada, a well-bred daughter of Sendawar who was previously trained in France, will contest the extended 8f maiden and will have the services of Clare Lindop to guide her. Her form in France entitles her to go well in this, but it will be her first start on an artificial surface and she is probably best watched on what will also be her first start for the Takizada Syndicate. Chief Exec will always be remembered by Jeremy as his first winner in the UK and in this race the seven-year-old will return to the course and distance over which he gained that win. He has been working well of late and this race should represent a good guide of how much of his old spark he retains. From there, we will head to Southwell where our Aussie import, Denton (pictured), runs in the 1m maiden handicap. We are hopeful that this son of Montjeu is handicapped to win, but it will be a big ask for him to go close on what will be his first start on fibresand as well as his first run for well over a year.
