Following a prolonged run of placed efforts, we returned to winning ways last Friday at Wolverhampton, with Simla Sunset running out the game winner of the 7f maiden. The three-year-old filly had bounced right back to form on her previous start when finishing second in a handicap over the same course and distance and we thought it was worth giving her an entry back in maiden company in the hope of getting a
When a yard is on a run like ours is at present, with the horses running extremely well without winning, it is difficult to know whether to be happy or frustrated. From four runners in the last week, we have had two seconds, a third and a fifth, with all four running right up to or very close to their best. Despite the moderate early gallop not suiting her and having been shuffled back through the field approaching the straight, she looked to have quite a daunting task in front of her. However, having been pulled wide by Adam Kirby, she came home very well indeed in the closing stages, finishing a never-nearer 1
The Jeremy Gask string acquitted themselves very well last week, with four of our five runners reaching the money, confirming that our horses are now in great heart following a quiet couple of weeks due to a few coughs and sniffles doing the rounds.
Pride of place of the week
