There should be a few runners to look out for this week. We have had Silent Dream entered across the board looking for the right ground and his preferred race is the handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter on Thursday. He cannot run on firm going and so we are hoping the ground doesn't dry too quickly up there. Another possible runner is Cheonmado who could head to Lingfield on Saturday over seven furlongs, although he does have other options. Street Power will almost certainly run the same day, in the 7.40 at Salisbury. It is only his second ever race (his first this season) and we expect him to learn from the experience while hopefully running a good race. The horse (pictured below) has matured a lot over the past year and went well in a racecourse gallop last Monday so it will be interesting to see how he runs.
Ken Tyre paid us a visit this morning. He came in to watch his horse, Yankeedoodledandy, work and was pleased to see how he's progressing. Yankee is only seven yet he has an impressive past. He won a couple of times on the flat before being switched to hurdling, where he swiftly won his three novice hurdles, came 2nd in the Juvenile Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham and ran 8th in the Triumph Hurdle, earning himself a rating of 139. He went back on the flat before heading over to Auteuil in France to take 2nd place in the Prix Dawn Run, a listed race. Yankee (pictured below behind Ken) hasn't run for a couple of years due to tendon problems and, although we continue to monitor his legs closely, we hope to have him back on the track in the next few weeks.
Two of our two year old fillies came back from their spelling yard this week. Both have put on weight and have grown into themselves a bit. The Forestry Filly is out of Belong to Lassie and is a lovely sort of horse. She is a bit on the light side and the break after the sales (she came from the Tattersalls breeze-up sales in April) will have done her the world of good. The other filly is by Proud Citizen out of Divine Diva. She is pictured below before her break and has come back looking very well. Both will come into full work in the next few days.
