Yanza (pictured on the Seawalker) makes her seasonal reappearance today in the 5f maiden at Kempton at 5.25 and we expect a big run from her. She was unlucky not to win as a two-year-old, finishing in the frame twice in maidens despite not being suited by the softish ground. She is in good form at home and with her having worked well at Kempton in the past, it would be no surprise to us if she was to go well in what looks likely to be a below-average contest before going on to show progression in handicaps.
Tomorrow Count Trevisio (pictured below relaxing in the paddock) holds an entry in the extended 9f handicap at Wolverhampton and, with him having run well over the course and distance on his penultimate start, it would be no surprise to us if he were to bounce back to form having failed to stay the longer trip on his latest start.
On Saturday, we have declared Vamos to run in the 6f maiden at Lingfield. He finished a very pleasing third on his last run at Lingfield 11 days ago and he has come out of that run in great heart. The step up to 6f looking sure to suit him and we expect him to benefit in terms of fitness from his last run. While the John Gosden-trained Anacreon looks to be the one to beat, we will be hopeful that we can make a race of it with him. Regardless of whether he can beat that higher rated rival or not, we expect him to continue to progress and prove competitive in handicaps in the months ahead.
