Looking back to the week just past, Flying Silks (pictured) made his seasonal reappearance at Leicester on Tuesday and, having his first start in the colours of Trevor and Carol Coffen, ran a race full of promise to finish fourth without being given an unduly hard time by Neil Callan. The three-year-old son of Barathea is sure to benefit from the run and, now that he has his handicap mark, can be expected to improve further in his next few starts.
On Saturday we sent Street Power (pictured below) up to Haydock. The heavy going was far from certain to suit him, but he ran a race full of credit to finish fourth. Due to the prevailing going, it proved very difficult indeed for any horse on the card to come from off the pace, which is Street Power's running style, so it is to his great credit that he came from near last position to challenge in the final 1f, only for the going conditions to tell on him late on. We will give him a short break to get over his exertions before finding another race for him.
