Hot Form Continues As Hot Weather Disappears

07th July 2009

We have a busy week ahead, as we prepare to send runners out up and down the country. Today Takizada and Chief Exec run at Wolverhampton, while Denton will head to Southwell. Takizada, a well-bred daughter of Sendawar who was previously trained in France, will contest the extended 8f maiden and will have the services of Clare Lindop to guide her. Her form in France entitles her to go well in this, but it will be her first start on an artificial surface and she is probably best watched on what will also be her first start for the Takizada Syndicate. Chief Exec will always be remembered by Jeremy as his first winner in the UK and in this race the seven-year-old will return to the course and distance over which he gained that win. He has been working well of late and this race should represent a good guide of how much of his old spark he retains. From there, we will head to Southwell where our Aussie import, Denton (pictured below), runs in the 1m maiden handicap. We are hopeful that this son of Montjeu is handicapped to win, but it will be a big ask for him to go close on what will be his first start on fibresand as well as his first run for well over a year.

On Wednesday, Django Reinhardt will make his seasonal reappearance in the 6f median auction maiden. The son of Tobougg (pictured below, centre) shaped with some promise on his only start last season and has been impressing in his work of late. While he can be expected to improve from the run with regard to both fitness and experience, it does not look to be the strongest of races and it would not be completely out of the question for him to finish in the first four.

On Thursday, the participation of the Coffen Construction-owned Flying Silks in the 7f three-year-old handicap at Warwick will hinge on the weather, as he is unlikely to run if the word
