We have a number of horses running this week. Our first port of call will be Kempton tomorrow evening where the Resurrection Partners-owned Ivory Silk steps up in trip to contest the 6f handicap. The four-year-old (pictured below) has been a model of consistency on the all-weather for us and while this will be her first time running at Kempton and at 6f since joining us, we are hopeful that what looks likely to be a strongly-run race will bring out the best in her.
30 minutes after Ivory Silk runs, we are likely to send out Running Flush to contest the 7f classified stakes. The son of Grand Slam has always worked better than a 54-rated performer at home, but he (pictured below) has just not been able to put it all together on the track as of yet. This is the weakest race he has ever contested and with first-time blinkers now applied, he will need to run well to justify our perseverance with him.
On Thursday, the Stuart & Kate Dobb-owned Chief Exec (pictured below, left) will return to his beloved Wolverhampton to contest the 7f handicap. This course and distance brings out the best in him but he will need to be at his strongest if he is to go close in what is the most competitive race he has contested in quite some time. Adam Kirby again takes the ride and if things pan out well for him, we know he is capable of running a big race.
On Friday, Wolverhampton will again be our destination and we hope to be represented by Anne Of Kiev (pictured below) in the 5f handicap. The daughter of Oasis Dream can be expected to improve from her seasonal reappearance at the track back in October and with the handicapper having given her a chance by dropping her 4 lb for that effort, we are hopeful that she can rediscover her old spark.
Last but certainly not least, our week will be wrapped up by Mrs Penny in the 5f handicap at Wolverhampton on Saturday. The ex-Aussie mare (pictured at home below) won at the track just under a year ago and while she has had a wind operation since last being seen in public back in the spring, we are hopeful that she has retained her ability. The shorter trip should not pose many problems for her and a promising run from her would be very popular in the yard as everyone here is a fan of this speedy mare.
Last week our attentions were very much focussed on Friday evening
