Anne Of Kiev Wins at Wolverhampton

Without doubt the highlight of the week gone by was the victory of Anne Of Kiev in the 5f handicap at Wolverhampton on Friday evening. The four-year-old filly has had her share of problems, however Jeremy has taken his time with her and she duly bounced back to her best to come out on top in a thrilling finish. The daughter of Oasis Dream was given an excellent ride by Luke Morris, who sensibly restrained her at the rear of the field as the leaders went off at a strong pace, angling off the rail at just the right time and bringing her with a storming late run in the final furlong to snatch the verdict in the dying strides. Now that she has shown that she retains all her ability, we are hopeful that she can win again in the near future. The filly (pictured below) is currently for sale and more details can be found in our marketplace.

Earlier in the week we had taken Ivory Silk and Running Flush to run at Kempton on Wednesday and both produced pleasing efforts. The Resurrection Partners-owned Ivory Silk was running over 6f for the first time since joining us and, while the field went along at a brisk pace, she could not quite muster the same turn of foot that she can over 5f, keeping on steadily to finish sixth. Later in the evening, we saddled Running Flush (pictured below) to contest the classified stakes over 7f and the three-year-old once again showed that he is still a big baby. He raced freely in the early stages in first-time blinkers and then came off the bridle when covered up in among horses as his confidence betrayed him, before finishing off the race quite well once in the clear again, eventually finishing third.
