New Leyf was an impressive winner last night at Kempton, taking the six furlong handicap in a style that suggested there is plenty more to come from this son of Kheleyf. The horse was given a confident ride from Steve Drowne, who managed to settle him behind the pace before unleashing him to run home the 1 1/4 length winner. Steve's post-race comments can be heard below.
Tonight we run Golden Ratio and Acrosstheuniverse at Wolverhampton. It is Golden Ratio's debut and we expect this daughter of Noverre to come on for the experience. Acrosstheuniverse is well-handicapped on her homework and we are hopeful that she will leave her poor handicap debut behind her tonight and deliver on the promise of her maiden runs.
