Able Master and Mrs Penny both ran today and neither disgraced themselves. Mrs Penny looked unsuited by the undulating track at Ripon and found herself in the slower group on the nearside rail. She ran on well at the end and will come on for the run. Able Master lined up in the Listed race over six furlongs at Newmarket, coming 7th but finishing off well. He will also improve for the outing.
Tomorrow we have Catalan Bay and Street Power both having their first runs of the season. The former has been very frustrating to train, as she has plenty of ability but tends to be too aggressive in her races. She tackles a seven furlong handicap at Thirsk, due off at 3.05. Street Power heads to Kempton at 8.30 where he will be partnered by Steve Drowne in the six furlong handicap. Some of his owners, Godfrey and Karen, will be there to cheer the powerful son of Street Cry home.
