We have two runners at Wolverhampton today. Lord Cornwall (pictured below, on the left) became our first two-year-old runner of the year earlier this afternoon, when he ran in the five furlong maiden. The Encosta De Lago colt shaped with more promise than the result suggests. Having dwelt in the stalls, he was on the back foot from the outset, having to contend with the kickback as he tried to get back into the race. Those exertions told in the closing stages and Steve Drowne let him come home in his own time. He is sure to improve from the experience and will more than likely have his next start on the turf.
At 5.30 our attentions will be focused on Golden Ratio when she lines up in the handicap over an extended mile. We feel the Noverre filly should handle the step up in trip and hope for a good showing from her.
