New Leyf ran a very good race on Saturday, finishing second at Newmarket. It was an encouraging return to form from the Kheleyf gelding, and The Racing Post commented "there are more races to be won with him". He provided an exciting finish for owner James Burdett, who watched the race and then had to quickly jump in a plane and fly off to a wedding. The horse has come home well and will be looking to go one better in the coming weeks.
Barbieri makes her debut tonight at Windsor under Steve Drowne. The Encosta De Lago two-year-old is a nice sort and will no doubt improve for getting a run under her belt. She lines up in the six furlong maiden at 6.10 for OTI Racing.
