He is jumping in grade from Class 3 to Class 5 and it will be very interesting to see how he makes the step up. He did miss a touch of work due to t a minor over reach but he seems in good heart and if he gets the race run to suit he should run well. SWEET SECRET seems ok this morning after sustaining a rather nasty injury to her hind legs yesterday at Wolverhampton but i would expect it to heal quickly and be back on track in a couple of weeks. I suppose the question is to what extent it would have effected her but it is difficult to fully assess. Often the adrenaline is flowing and horses can withstand quite high levels of pain. In a similar way to human athletes, horses are all different in the way they respond to injury in the heat of battle so i will give her the benefit of the doubt. No Luck For Sweet Secret Yesterday.......

PRINCE OF BURMA is the stable representative today at Lingfield as he bids for his treble in what looks an interesting race on paper. This sort of weather calls for a change of routine as the gallops need special attention and the treadmill is put into overdrive. Had a good hit of tennis last night at Bishipstrow with a mate Paul. Eamonn actually joined us for a few games and i have to say he showed some great talent up at the net. There was a fair bit of frame action happening but it was effective, resembling a giant praying mantis on amphetamines stalking its prey! On to the real athletes then. SWEET SECRET heads to Wolverhampton today and i hope she can put a disappointing run at Lingfield behind her where she gave in tamely. This track will suit her better and i hope we don't see another display of her hormonal behaviour which seems to have crept in. We have tried to time things to not coincide with her racing so fingers crossed we can get a better result today as there looks to be less pace on offer which should help. PRINCE OF BURMA will head back to Lingfield tomorrow after having to be withdrawn from a race during the week at Kempton after he gave himself a small overreach. I was touch and go whether to run then but took view that if i couldn't be sure he wasn't 100% i wouldn't run him. Some horses are 'braver' than others and i'm not certain BURMA would be at the higher end of the scale in this department! He looks great though and it will be a good test stepping up considerably in grade. Sunday i expect SULIS MINERVA to return to the track in a bid to make it three in a row. She remains in good heart however the freeze has seen a minor disruption to her routine. She also has stepped up in grade but it will be very interesting to see what level she can reach this year as her confidence looks high. BUNKERED AGAIN may also go to Kempton Sunday. She has been a bit disappointing as i expected her to have shown more at this stage. [date] => 2012-02-03 [tag_cloud] => ) :.:Array ( [0] => 2012-02-03 )

Only action on the all-weather...

30112011

Another cold morning in Sutton Veny as the gauge dropped to -8 this morning.

We have tried to time things to not coincide with her racing so fingers crossed we can get a better result today as there looks to be less pace on offer which should help.
