  • we hope to see some improvement with him. FINE FINALE is our final runner of the day
  • we have an early start at Lingfield this morning with YOU GOT THE LOVE. She will be assisted by blinkers for the first time today as her attitude towards racing has not yet impressed. We hope she will show a little improvement on her fourth racecourse appearance. TOGA TIGER makes his debut for the yard at Lingfield after time off with an injury. I am still learning a bit about the horse and will be happy if he returns sound and well in the morning
  • she pulled up a little scratchy after the race and I will have a discussion with the owners with regard to her future.
  • she is well and home and we are hopeful that she will run well for her syndicate. However
  • as I would hope he can race through the winter. GONE TO GROUND goes to Wolverhampton and has also been fitted with blinkers
  • although I think he will be better at 3 I hope to see more than what he has showed us on the track so far. Last night BARBIERI failed to deliver what I know she can

Heading north.

31st August 2009

Today we head to Ripon with ONE WAY OR ANOTHER and MEDICEAN MAN. One Way has drawn an awkward stall but the lack of options leaves us with no choice but to take our place. Given the draw he will have to be ridden with patience which is not an easy ...

Cricket........what cricket?

27th August 2009

I've noticed lately the English take their cricket very seriously. The Aussies don't actually consider The Ashes very important anyway..... On more important subject matter it has been a quiet week for the yard and i took the opportunity to head up ...

Agony at The Oval

22nd August 2009

I fear it is going to be a tough few days of having to put up with the constant ribbing over the cricket. I know it's not over yet but the 'fat lady' is going through her warm up. I feared the first innings score by England was going to prove a good...

How good is Street Power?

20th August 2009

STREET POWER now may find himself able to have a crack at a decent race now after what i thought was his best performance yet. On a track i was slightly concerned about due to the faster nature last night and the fact it was a little harder for the h...

An interesting night ahead.

19th August 2009

Last night MEDICEAN MAN appeared to be disappointing on face value. Without looking too deeply into the run he may like a little more give in the ground than what he got there at Nottingham. This combined with the fact i would have preferred to get m...

Freshened up well.

18th August 2009

Well it was back in the swing of things again on the gallops after a lovely freshen up in Turkey. Funnily enough it always something i think really helps horses to do the same from time to time. In Australia we regularly sent horses to another farm f...

Apologies for not updating sooner but i have avoided the computer for a few days to try and unwind and relax in Turkey. More about that shortly. What a different experience it was waiting to hear how how DENTON went this week at Nottingham. I got th...

No rain for Ponte....

5th August 2009

A bit of a frustrating night with the expected rain at Pontefract not appearing. I will still take FLYING SILKS as the ground looks to be good though i would have liked more cut in the ground for the son af Barathea. They do love soft tracks and this...

Denton donkey licks 'em....

3rd August 2009

I have to say i was pleasantly surprised by the dominant performance of DENTON on Saturday night. As stated in the previous blog he has worked well for a horse of his rating however i think the ride flattered the way he won in the end in what was not...

Medicean is the Man.

1st August 2009

The long trip to Haydock last night was well worth it with another impressive win by the progressive MEDICEAN MAN. Ridden more positively as planned on ground which better suited him he was in control close to home to score easing down. It was a grea...
