  • we hope to see some improvement with him. FINE FINALE is our final runner of the day
  • we have an early start at Lingfield this morning with YOU GOT THE LOVE. She will be assisted by blinkers for the first time today as her attitude towards racing has not yet impressed. We hope she will show a little improvement on her fourth racecourse appearance. TOGA TIGER makes his debut for the yard at Lingfield after time off with an injury. I am still learning a bit about the horse and will be happy if he returns sound and well in the morning
  • she pulled up a little scratchy after the race and I will have a discussion with the owners with regard to her future.
  • she is well and home and we are hopeful that she will run well for her syndicate. However
  • as I would hope he can race through the winter. GONE TO GROUND goes to Wolverhampton and has also been fitted with blinkers
  • although I think he will be better at 3 I hope to see more than what he has showed us on the track so far. Last night BARBIERI failed to deliver what I know she can

Ramon back........ - 23rd July 2009

After what turned out to be a longer drive than expected the day at Ffos Las resulted in mixed fortunes. SUTTON VENY progressed well from her first run and I was very pleased with her effort. She travelled well before being slightly outpaced ion the final two furlongs although I am very confident this was purely lack of experience. She will make a nice filly.

HORSESHOE REEF was disappointing after having made the running at a sedate pace he gave up without a yelp and there does appear to be two of him at the moment. Perhaps the pace was a little slow for him and the track may suit faster sorts but I would be making excuses.

On the subject of the track I was very impressed with the layout. Nice sweeping bends and good starting positions it was impressive and talking to the jockeys, they were all full of praise. I was slightly disappointed in the prize money

The turf seemed slightly new as expected and the drainage looks so good it could get a little firm in the drier times. All in all I thought the place was very well laid out and we enjoyed the day.

DJANGO was pulled up last night at Leicester after the jockey felt he lost his action. He seems fine this morning and I am hoping it was purely the first time on soft going which lead to the indifferent performance.

Tomorrow REMEMBER RAMON will go to Newmarket. He has been off the track for a while after a couple of niggles and the firm tracks kept him away. I am not sure the track is ideal for him but he options are few and far between at the moment and he is well at home.

Never a dull moment with horses as I had a call from Kelly (our client services manager) asking for help as her 24yo pony Sam had fallen through the top of a disused septic tank and was well and truly in the.....well you know what!

He was remarkably calm as was Kelly though he looked to be ok despite a rather nasty cut to his knee. After the help of the fire brigade and a local farmer with a telescopic lifter he was winched to safety. All looks ok with him but he was very lucky as it could have been a lot worse.

It is a big day for the family as the 'in laws' arrive from Australia for a stay. We haven
