That's Racing.... - 29th May 2010

ONE WAY was lucky to stay on his feet yesterday at Newmarket after clipping heels he struggled to get himself together again before stumbling badly and nearly coming down. I felt he was travelling very well at the time and was just starting to be popped the question. He does take a few strides to hit top gear but this took away any chance of finishing the race off. Simon Pearce thought the horse had broken down hence him easing him out of the race.

Unfortunately these things can happen and i see Adam Kirby got a short holiday for his troubles, no consolation for the RATS Syndicate but at least the horse looks fine this morning and will live to fight another day. It's a pity as JAMES KNIGHT clearly could have done with the money so he could go out and buy a decent pair of trousers!

The drive home from Newmarket was horrendous on a bank holiday Friday as the M25 resembled a car park for an hour or two of our journey.

Today FLYING SILKS heads north to Beverley and i expect him to run well. He has been in good form and the blinkers have been applied as i have found him just losing concentration at the business end. Hopefully they will have had a drop of rain by race time to give him some relief.

A day off tomorrow and a good chance to watch the Grand Prix at some stage. The Red Bulls look to have a bit up their sleeve and should lead the way again and i will be cheering on Mark Webber again and think he has a great chance to take the Championship lead outright.
