Well things pan out as well as we had hoped for SUTTON VENY on the weekend. Though i was happy for a bit of rain the track was riding far heavier than i had anticipated. I don't wish to make excuses all the time but the 9st 9 on the heavy going probably put her in her place. She did get pestered slightly early on which didn't help as she probably did too much in the opening 2f which cost her late on.
However she has pulled up well and i am pretty confident had the ground been better she would have been very hard to beat. That's racing and she will be back.
Today IVORY SILKS returns at Wolverhampton. I would expect her to need the run but she did show up first time out at Salisbury which took me by surprise so a good run wouldn't be out of the question fresh.
DELAWARE DANCER makes her debut and i do like the filly. She will benefit, as mine do, from the experience but she has been a long time in waiting after getting injured as a young horse.
