Horses First Racing

Storm Chasing.......... - 24th August 2010

It was certainly a mixed weekend last weekend as we headed to York with the expectation of soft ground. The rain however never came and we decided to turn the horse around and head home only to see the heavens open after racing at York on Friday night.

It was then onto Ripon where we hopep to get some softish ground. The ground was a bit firmer than we would like but Medicean Man ran well to run fifth after getting a long way back in a very fast run race. He will step up to 7 furlongs now where I think he can use his natural speed and turn of foot to best effect.

It was good to see an improvement from Hedonist and I think we will see the best of him as he steps up in trip. He is a likeable horse and I hope he can repay the faith shown by his owners.

Thaliwarru also found six furlongs a bit slick, the ground probably wasn't soft enough for him either and we will look to run him in a similar race over further next time.

Flying Silks then went to Bath in the hope of some decent ground before the rain arrived, however the plan was thwarted, the heavens opened and after missing the break his chance was lost. We will look fora similar race in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately Rahya Cass seems to have no interest in racing at present and where we go from here is up to discussion with the owner.

Tonight we head to Kempton with Law Of Attraction and I am hoping a return to a better surface can bring about the desired result. He is in good form at home looks well and I'm optimistic about a forward showing.
