  • we hope to see some improvement with him. FINE FINALE is our final runner of the day
  • we have an early start at Lingfield this morning with YOU GOT THE LOVE. She will be assisted by blinkers for the first time today as her attitude towards racing has not yet impressed. We hope she will show a little improvement on her fourth racecourse appearance. TOGA TIGER makes his debut for the yard at Lingfield after time off with an injury. I am still learning a bit about the horse and will be happy if he returns sound and well in the morning
  • she pulled up a little scratchy after the race and I will have a discussion with the owners with regard to her future.
  • she is well and home and we are hopeful that she will run well for her syndicate. However
  • as I would hope he can race through the winter. GONE TO GROUND goes to Wolverhampton and has also been fitted with blinkers
  • although I think he will be better at 3 I hope to see more than what he has showed us on the track so far. Last night BARBIERI failed to deliver what I know she can

Back at Bath - 7th September 2009

We try our hand at Bath today and only hopeful of a result there. TAINE has been a long time off since joining us. It wouldn't surprise anyone to learn that he has had his problems and i will be interested to see how he goes today. He is not a big horse at all but is built for speed.

My honest opinion is that his best would have been early in his career but sadly due to injury we lost out on that period. He has had the one run for William Haggas and went pretty well though as lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.

THETA WAVE runs in the seller and hopefully back to the shorter trip will suit him. He is still learning how to carry himself properly and the track should suit him.

What a day's racing it was on Saturday. Sadly it was somewhat overshadowed by the tragic death of the two apprentices at Malton. All our thoughts are with the families at this time.

See The Stars is indeed a star. It is wonderful to have such a high class horse going around at the moment and i hope he stays in training for a while longer yet. It is disappointing to see so many of the colts disappear of to stud so early.

we then were spoilt with Rachel Alexandra taking all before her in the states. Boy she is one tough filly and clearly they don't have the same whip rules over there as she had to do it tough in the final furlong after setting a ferocious gallop early. I thought she did an amazing job to keep running given her early sectionals.
