Yesterday's results probably worked out the way i expected. THETA WAVE still runs like a baby but i think his stature probably doesn't help him remain balanced and he needs a nice flat track to bring out the best in him.
Tomorrow night CHIEF EXEC tries the mile at Kempton and though he hasn't got it in the past i don't think he has been ridden in his preferred style of settling rearward. He always needs luck but he is feeling very well at the moment.
I am heading for the first time to the US next week and i must say i am looking forward to it. I am going for the yearling sales in Kentucky and hope to pick up a couple of 2yo types to get on with next year. It will be a great experience to see the place and is something i have never considered when living in Australia. The tyranny of distance has always been the difficulty from Australia.
I look forward to reporting from there then.
One of our aims in the future is to travel more with the horses abroad which not only provides some terrific prize money but wider chances to gain the much valued 'Black Type' for fillies and mares. The recent money on offer in Turkey was staggering and we will be scouring the programme books in the future for any chance we can expose.
