Just our luck at the moment yesterday as the rain came down prior to EVONNE EYELYN running at Lingfield. We chose not to run DENTON due to the firm ground and ran Yvonne as she likes it and doesn't handle the soft. Sod's Law the rain bucketted down and turned the ground soft. Denton would have loved it.
I was a little disappointed in the run by Sutton Veny and maybe the rising ground caught her out at Leicester. She has worked better than that and i'm not prepared to judge her too harshly yet.
Anyway i sit here at the airport with another delayed flight to the US for my visit to Keenland. Have to say i am looking forward to it. As a closet country music fan i will be in my element there in Kentucky.
I spent last night in Ireland with Dermot and noticed a trophy on the shelf from Punchestown. I congratulated him as i believe he hadn't had a winner there before. When his wife January took me aside and informed me it was for the most lovable dog at a dog show that the trophy was awarded i suddenly realised the magnatude of the victory. Well done Dermot.
