Friday night was a mixed bag and a little frustrating to say the least.
YANZA ran well from an awkward draw and i think she can win a similar race soon. She got back further than expected and got caught a little flat footed when they sprinted but worked home well.
THETA WAVE ran as i would have expected and he looks exposed and limited.
It was great to see IVORY SILKS return to her best form with what i thought was a terrific run. She loves the surface and probably wants a slightly longer trip thought they are hard to come by on a turning track. We'll keep her in similar events for the time being. I felt with a bit of luck and a smaller field she goes very close.
I thought REMEMBER RAMON was set a very difficult task in front setting very solid sectionals from the jump carrying a very large weight. Perhaps a breather mid race would have seen a very different story but he never got it. I have to say i was expecting more pace and a chance for us to take a sit in behind the speed, something we have been working on teaching the horse to do. A disappointing result given my expectations.
It is frustrating when one has a run like we are at the moment with luck of the draw and the way races are run just not panning out the way we expect. Lets hope the run of luck turns for us this week. More about that later.
