A frustrating day at Bath as DENTON pulled up making a noise and clearly choked down. I am very happy with the progress he has made this year and we will more than likely put him away for next year.

One of my old favourites in CHIEF EXEC has a go at Wolvs tonight and another fast finishing run can be expected. He is in great order at the moment and just needs things to go his way to be in the finish again. With his style of racing he needs the pace on to give him a chance to get home.

As the season draws to a close we will be a bit quieter on the racing front. It has been a frustrating month or so as we have had our fair share of coughs and colds around. I guess this time of year it is always a bit of a minefield. The bloods are fine etc, we are just seeing a few dirty scopes after the races so it is a slight case of flying blind. The horses are very well in themselves, just racing off peak when trying to get home. In other words, i would just be betting with caution at the moment.

Tomorrow SUTTON VENY has her first try on the all weather and going right handed. To be honest i would have preferred a left hand track for her all weatrher debut but i fear she may not get a run next week so i am prepared to have a look tomorrow night and see how she handles it.

It is always a slight mystery as to their like/dislike of the all weather and i usually find they take a couple of goes to get used to the new kick back. Sutton Veny is in great heart at home and i think we may have jarred her slightly on a couple of firm tracks. If she handles the track i would expect a promising run from her.
