The recent weather calls for some changes to the daily routine with the gallops finally succumbing to the snow yesterday. The treadmill certainly goes into overtime during such a period as we worked about 25 on there today.
It is a real bonus to have such a machine as none of the horses in full work will miss any vital work. There are only about two horses in the whole yard that aren't a fan of it so they will be the only casualties. In fact it is a good time for me to catch up and have a close look at how they are going on the treadmill. It never ceases to amaze me how well the horses adapt to it and actually really enjoy their work.
The lack of racing gave me a chance t catch up on a bit of sport. The Aussies and England got out of jail in the last couple of days but it made for great entertainment. Brighton FC booked their Cup clash with Villa and Eamonn and i have already booked our ticket to the match. He is keen for me to find a runner at Wolvs that night to make it a full day. Fingers crossed for a big day/night.
There was slight envy today when Kerrie informed me the temperature was 40 degrees in Adelaide today! To be honest i would rather the cold than anything above 40.That said, bring on spring, in more ways than one.......
