It was back to earth with an almighty one yesterday. Everything that could go wrong did. IVORY SILK raced upside down after a very confusing race left her trying to chase the tearaway leader. She has pulled up well so draw a line through that one.
CATALAN BAY pulled too hard with the visors on and the original plan to race back wasn't an option and as Clare stated in hindsight she would have been better off rolling forward to the rail.
YVONNE EVELYN appeared to dislike the ground as she never looked happy and being a long striding sort the shifty ground may have caused a lack of confidence.
So we move onto another day and we'll just put that one behind us.
It was a pity as being Salisbury, everyone in the box was in good spirits after the win of Street Power the day before and Godfrey and Karen still covered with grins from ear to ear.The owners of YVONNE were terrific after the disappointment but we will be back for another day!
As an avid Grand Prix fan, good luck to Mark Webber who clearly deserves to win a race after making his first pole today in Germany. It must be tough being in a team with Sebastian Vettel who I have no doubt will be a world champion in the future.
I may have been saying yesterday 'what a difference a day makes' but surely it doesn't compare to how Lewis Hamilton must feel after a World title one year and a back marker the next!
Tomorrow we travel to Wolverhampton with PRECIOUS CITIZEN who has first run for us. Difficult to get a line on her as we find ourselves having to run where we could get a run due to her low handicap mark. Wolvs wouldn't be our first choice but she has worked ok at home and I think she could run a bit of a race.
After my day yesterday I will refrain from talking about the cricket........
