  • we hope to see some improvement with him. FINE FINALE is our final runner of the day
  • we have an early start at Lingfield this morning with YOU GOT THE LOVE. She will be assisted by blinkers for the first time today as her attitude towards racing has not yet impressed. We hope she will show a little improvement on her fourth racecourse appearance. TOGA TIGER makes his debut for the yard at Lingfield after time off with an injury. I am still learning a bit about the horse and will be happy if he returns sound and well in the morning
  • she pulled up a little scratchy after the race and I will have a discussion with the owners with regard to her future.
  • she is well and home and we are hopeful that she will run well for her syndicate. However
  • as I would hope he can race through the winter. GONE TO GROUND goes to Wolverhampton and has also been fitted with blinkers
  • although I think he will be better at 3 I hope to see more than what he has showed us on the track so far. Last night BARBIERI failed to deliver what I know she can

No Luck For Sweet Secret Yesterday.......

4th February 2012

PRINCE OF BURMA is the stable representative today at Lingfield as he bids for his treble in what looks an interesting race on paper. He is jumping in grade from Class 3 to Class 5 and it will be very interesting to see how he makes the step up. He d...

Only action on the all-weather...

3rd February 2012

Another cold morning in Sutton Veny as the gauge dropped to -8 this morning. This sort of weather calls for a change of routine as the gallops need special attention and the treadmill is put into overdrive. Had a good hit of tennis last night at Bi...

Happy Australia Day.....

26th January 2012

Australia Day today as i start the day by listening to a bit of COLD CHISEL while reviewing the win of PRINCE OF BURMA yesterday at Lingfield. He looks to have sparked up with the addition of head gear and it will be interesting to see what level he ...

A test for Burma....

25th January 2012

IVORY SILK ran a rather luck lustre race at Wolverhampton on Monday despite the fact the race was run at a muddling tempo. I expected her to run on better than that and subject to confirmation with her owner Stuart Dobb she will likely be covered and...

Happy to be proven wrong.....

23rd January 2012

My doubts about SULIS MINERVA were gladly proven wrong and she won in good style again at Lingfield on the weekend. Under a cool ride from Raul she had her chance to dodge it but dig in and went to the line strongly after getting carried out wide. Th...

A Test For Sulis MInerva.....

21st January 2012

It will be an interesting day at Lingfield as SULIS MINERVA bids to back up her impressive win there last time. It has been well documented that she has had a wind op and I am hoping it seems to have given her some confidence to find the line now, so...

The Prince Salutes....

20th January 2012

It was a relief to see PRINCE OF BURMA put his best foot forward on Wednesday. The combination of blinkers and a truly run race seemed to do the trick under a copybook ride by Ian Mongan who rode him to a tee. I may get him out pretty quickly again a...

Time for Prince to stand up.......

18th January 2012

I suspect PRINCE OF BURMA hasn't been giving me everything on the racetrack as he travels to Kempton Park today. I have applied the blinkers but not without some reservations in keeping him at the mile to do so. He needs to settle early given his las...

17th January 2012

Another very cold morning but have to say it's postcard stuff out there. I spent the day yesterday having a look at a few of the horses due to return to work with the freezing conditions slowing down the horses work until we prepare the gallops which...

Not So Sweet!

14th January 2012

Well things certainly didn't go to plan yesterday at Lingfield. LUCKY ROYALE raced very keenly and failed to settle well enough with the step up to the mile and will now have a break and be back in the summer. She has been terrific winning three on t...

Lingfield clash......

13th January 2012

Well it's not perfect planning as SWEET SECRET and LUCKY ROYALE take each other on at Lingfield today. The former hasn't had a lot of luck of late and if this was at Kempton or Wolvs i would have been happier. However it looks a good opportunity and ...

New Year brings high expectations......

11th January 2012

It is always an exciting time of year as the turf brigade begin cantering again and the new 2yo's begin their first real preparations. We look to have a nice mix of 2yo's so far with some sharp looking types complimented by a few later ones to keep t...
